She started at the age of 2 and shows no sign of stopping any time soon. She’s Jordyn Curet, an amazing, shining star we can’t get enough of, who is making her presence known everywhere; stage, television, film, and YouTube.

She is the recipient of two Young Entertainer Awards; one for her work on Disney Channel’s Bizzardvark and the second one for her portrayal of young Phylicia Rashad in A Tale of Two Sisters. She is also the hostess with the mostess for DreamWorks TV’s successful YouTube series, Life Hacks for Kids.

She currently stars in ABC's hit sitcom 'Home Economics', which entered its third season on September 21st, 2022, and follows three adult siblings each coming from different financial situations: one in the 1%, one in the middle class, and another one who is barely holding on. But, these siblings know that they can always count on one another, no matter what obstacles may come their way.

In this show, Curet plays the lovable role of Shamiah, showing her great professionalism and terrific charm in every episode of the show.

Jordyn, how would you describe your life so far? You think it’s been a good life, a happy life, a tough life...?

So far, my life has been very happy. I am a thirteen-year-old, who has been able to do things most people only dream of doing. I am very grateful for the opportunities that have been given to me and I try not to take them for granted.

That question may sound a bit weird but it’s because I would like to know where that willingness to help others comes from. I mean, at the age of 7, what made you feel you need to help other kids? How did you decide to create this non-profit organization named "Jordyn's Joy"? How did it start?

Growing up, my parents always had toy drives at my birthday parties. They raised me to have joy when it comes to giving back. I have always loved the name “Jordyn’s Joy” and that is how we created the name of my non-profit organization.

What do you exactly do through it? Do you have a team?

Through Jordyn’s Joy, my team and I raise money for various organizations including the Ronald McDonald House through events and parties. My publicist and manager help me set up events to raise funds or donations for these organizations. My parents also help me with organizing everything for each event we do.

Any special story from your experience working with underprivileged children you want to share with us?

In the past, I’ve worked with an amazing organization called Kids in the Spotlight, which helps foster kids produce films! I’ve gotten to work with a few kids, who were so sweet and cool. It was such an amazing experience to meet kids who were passionate about producing and acting like I am.

How do you live this “fame” thing being so young?

I am grateful that I still have a pretty normal life. When I am working on set, things can be a bit unordinary to outsiders looking in, but to me it is still normal. I’ve been acting forever, so I am used to this life right now. I surround myself with great friends and family who keep me grounded. I attend regular school, so everything still feels very normal. I do get very excited when people recognize me in public and I really find it refreshing!

What is the best and worst part of being an actress?

I love being an actress. I would say, the best part is meeting new friends and getting to work with them. On the other hand, meeting people who don't want to support your journey or aren’t exactly the nicest is definitely the worst part.

You have described your character of “Shamiah” in Home Economics, as an honest, sweet, and kind girl. Do you think you have things in common with her? And if not, can you explain that to us?

My character, “Shamiah”, is very relatable because she is starting to grow up and become a teenager. She wants to become a more independent individual. This new season, she has started to develop crushes, and throughout the season fans will get to see her personality a bit more. She becomes a little bit more sassier and more definite as she is finding herself and where she belongs.

We know you are going to be doing some singing scenes in the new season of Home Economics and also for your upcoming movie which is a musical, right? Can you give us some details?

Singing has always been a fun hobby of mine. When I am not acting, I am singing here and there. I am so happy that I finally get to merge my two careers and showcase my singing abilities on film. In Holiday Harmony, my character, “Rosemary”, is a very shy but sweet girl. During the film she finds her voice through singing with the help of her teacher.

How do you balance your acting career while going to school full time?

I attend regular school, but when I am filming on set, I have teachers who help me complete my assignments in between scenes. Also, my friends from school help me understand anything I may have missed. My parents definitely help me in finding a balance between it all by creating schedules and I make sure I am able to keep on schedule with everything.
