“SOLTERA” BUT NOT ALONE - AILEEN TALKS WORK WITH MUSICOLOGO AND MORE
Will Well over 60k views in a short span, the success of Aileen's "Soltera" is absolutely not a surprise for RIVAL. We got the chance to play the video before release and we were sure it meant a great leap forward for Aileen's budding solo career.
She didn't do it alone, of course; Latin Urban giant Musicólogo "The Libro" and equally legendary producer "Came Beats" (Ozuna, Arcángel, Kevvo) were there every step of the way ensuring that Aileen's talent shone the brightest it could for the hot new single.
The sensual music video was shot in the luscious and beautiful beaches of Santo Domingo, a place of great significance both to Aileen personally and Urbal Latin Music as a whole. Read more below:
Tell us a bit about "Soltera", what's the vibe/inspiration for the song?
Soltera is an Afrobeat-inspired song. Produced by Came beats, the rhythm and melody spoke directly to my heart and made me and the producer Genio choose to write about being “single”, “Soltera”.
"Soltera" has a gorgeous music video; shot in Santo Domingo, right? I know you were born in Rhode Island and raised in Florida, but have you been to Dominicana much? How did it feel to be able to shoot your video there?
“Soltera” was shot in the capital, Santo Domingo of Dominican Republic. Being born from Dominican parents and growing up with so much culture, I have always strived and assured that it remains in me, especially in my career. I try to visit my country every year. Shooting “Soltera”, in my country meant the world to me. I felt truly connected and proud to have created such beautiful song and video in my own country.
Let's get to know you a little better: What are your musical influences? Who inspires your sound?
My musical influencers are Selena Quintanilla, Celine Dion, Marc Anthony, and Janet Jackson . Selena Quintanilla has always inspired my vocals and artists like Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Shakira and inspire my sound.
Who is AILEEN when she's not on stage, on a music video set, or in the studio?
When the “switch is turned off”, Aileen is a dedicated girl to her family! I love spending time with my grandmother. I watch movies and love to shop! Lol
During your time with Grupo Vena, you got the chance to tour Europe, the U.S. and South America, what was your favorite crowd in those days? if you can't choose, then tell us which crowd stood out the most for you.
When I was with “Vena”, I learned so much. I was able to truly learn the process of preparing a show with 14 band members. I got to learn the inside of how to break in a new song and improve my vocal and performance skills.
How'd you link up with Musicológo? have you two worked together before?
Musicólogo and I worked for the first time in “Soltera”. The song was sent to him by my team and he immediately fell in love with the concept, the message, and the sound. It was a true blessing.
You're working on your debut album with Genio and Came beats. tell us a bit about how that process has been going for you so far. Any tentative release date for the album yet?
Came beats and Genio are amazing!!! The process so far has been a breath of fresh air. To have producers that understand and value my vision, my style, my goals is again, another blessing. They are a true dynamic duo. We’re pushing for the end of the year to release the album!
What's next for Aileen?
More music, more music videos and more collaborations is next for me. I can’t wait for mi “gente bella” (my beautiful people) to listen to what’s next… lots of surprises!
