AFI Plays a Sold Out Show at The Majestic Ventura Theater

AFI brought their highly anticipated Bodies Tour back to SoCal one last time with a sold out date in Ventura. The East Bay punks have been treating fans to surprise setlists on each stop of the tour — so no two nights are ever the same. Notorious for playing deep cuts at each show, Ventura was no exception. The set boasted 17 tracks across 11 different albums. The most impressive fact is that AFI haven’t forgotten how to play even their deepest cuts — unlike some bands who fall victim to the same setlist time and time again. The night’s notable rarities included “Rabbits Are Roadkill On Rt. 37” and “The Conductor.”

The energy between the audience and AFI enraptured the theater from start to finish. There was an undeniable genuine connection radiating from the crowd to frontman Davey Havok, who effortlessly carried the entire room. Loaded with jumps, splits and the traditional Havok crowd-stand, AFI did not miss a beat. Each song was delivered with precision and sounded phenomenal. While the tour is almost wrapped, the band recently announced an anniversary show for their album ‘Sing The Sorrow’ at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles — which sold out in just a few days. If you are able to attend, it is something you definitely won’t want to miss as AFI never disappoint.
